Xi Xiang Feng

I was at Ang Mo Kio Food Centre for lunch today. I wanted to check out this Yong Tau Foo stall called Xi Xiang Feng. Heard that they serve very good Yong Tau Foo. When I was there, I noticed that there was a queue at the stall, I selected my ingredients and joined in the queue. I ordered Bee Hoon dry with chilli and sweet sauce. The bee hoon goes well with the bean sprouts, chilli sauce and sweet sauce. The ingredients are pretty fresh. One of the items I chose was the deep fried meatball, It is very crispy but I must say that it is very unhealthy because it is very oily. I think the meatball is made of lard and flour which is why it is very fragrant and crispy but sinful. The soup is very tasty and filled with the goodness from the soy beans and Ikan bilis. Overall, I find that this Yong Tau Foo stall is pretty good and you can give it a try.

Rasa Sayang Western Food

I was at S-11 Food Centre today. I was contemplating between my old time favourite Western Food from this stall called Rasa Sayang Western Food and a bowl of Penang Prawn Noodles. I convinced my wife to share the food with me so that we could have both delicacies. This Western Food stall has gained lots of awards by the various variety shows like Yummy King. There were many people waiting for their takeaways and I decided to order a Fried Chicken Cutlet for S$6.00. The Chicken Cutlet is delicious and has a crispy breaded crust on the outside and the chicken is very tender on the inside. There are side dishes like the baked beans, garlic bread, salad and fries. Overall I find that the portion is generous and this is one of the better ones I have tasted.

Penang Delights

I was at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 for dinner today. It has been a few years since the last time I came here for a meal. I was walking around S11 Food Centre and noticed this stall selling Penang Prawn Noodles called Penang Delights. This is one stall that I have always wanted to try and hence I ordered a bowl of Penang Prawn Bee Hoon for S$3.50. The Prawn Bee Hoon was delicious and the soup was fillled with a rich prawny taste. The Prawn Bee Hoon consists of ingredients like prawns, sliced pork, kang kong and bean sprouts and it was garnished with lots of fried spring onions. This is definitely worth a try.
